Description

Chitkul also called the last village of India is nestled in kinnar valley of Himachal Pradesh. This place is known to reside in the hearts of adventure lovers. Located at an altitude of about 11,319 ft., it may appear to be difficult to reach but once you reach there it's worth the effort. With Kinner Kailash in the backdrop, Chitkul seems to be ab unparalleled beauty, with the background of kinner Kailash and is located near the baspa river. It is known as the first village of Baspa valley and last village towards Hindustan-Tibet route.

Chitkul is surrounded by Garhwal on the south and Tibet in the east. On the other hand the west is surrounded by kullu and north by Spiti valley.

The total distance from Chitkul to Delhi is 569 kilometres. Baspa River, mathi Devi temple are common attractions of the region.

On your journey towards Chitkul you will be mesmerized by the enchanting beauty of the region with snow covered mountains all around. On the other side you will get to see terrain full of wooden houses and apple orchards. This place remains covered under a thick layer of snow for most part of the year.

Deodar forests and chilgoza trees flaunt the majestic land of Kinnaur.

Winters in kinnar are harsh and extremely cold but this is what makes the region so magnificent. The temperature drops down to -20°C so you should be prepared with heavy woollen clothing. The best time to visit this region is during summer months and that between April to June and September – October. The clear blue skies on Hindustan-Tibet highway on way towards Chitkul marks the journey of an amazing adventure.

Detailed Itinerary

Start - Departure From Delhi

    • After meeting your fellow travelers at a common meeting point, you will be departing to Sarahan from Delhi overnight.

Day 1 - Reaching Sarahan

    • You all will reach Shimla by early morning and will be moving towards Sarahan via drive.
    • After reaching Sarahan by around noon, you will check in to your hotel.
    • After freshening up you will be visiting the famous Mahakali temple and will. Be mesmerized by the divine beauty of this village.
    • The evening will be sparked by the born fire, music, and interactive sessions. After having dinner you will stay overnight in Sarahan.

Day 2 - Sarahan to Chitkul

    • This day will start early morning breakfast. After that, you will be moving towards Chitkul. On your way, you will be mesmerized by the snow-clad mountains.
    • The narrow road towards Chitkul makes it adventurous and welcomes you with breathtaking views.
    • You will pass through Sangla valley after reaching Chitkul by evening. You will get a short stop at Sangla market.
    • An overnight stay in Chitkul will wash away all your tiredness and you will enjoy the bonfire amidst the snow-covered mountains.

Day 3 - Exploring Chitkul Village

    • You will be waking up to a lazy morning after having fun last night. You get a picturesque view near 'Hindustan ka akhri dhaba'.
    • After that visit Kagyupa temple and offer prayers. You may also trek to baspa river/tiranga trek (if the weather is adequate and time permits.)
    • You will also be visiting the last checkpoint near the border, where you will be welcomed by the snow-covered roads and mountains.
    • After coming back late in the evening you will stay overnight in the hotel.

Day 4 - Chikul to Kalpa

    • Waking up early today and will be driving towards Kalpa, after having breakfast. The drive will be for around 3 to 4 hours.
    • Checking in the hotel after reaching Kalpa in the afternoon. Then later you will visit Roghi village and Roghi point also known as suicide point in Kinnaur.
    • Post that you will be visiting Kalpa monastery and will return back to hotel, late in the evening
    • You will have your dinner later and stay overnight.

Day 5 - Kalpa to Shimla and Back to Delhi

    • Today the day will be started with an early morning breakfast and we will be going back to Delhi.
    • After reaching Shimla in the evening, you can relax here and shop around in Shimla mall.
    • Post the leisure time, the journey from Shimla to Delhi will be overnight.
    • You will reach Delhi the next morning with mesmerizing memories of snowy mountains.

    • We reserve the right to evict any camper anytime without any refund if his/her actions violates any rules.
    • All guests must carry a valid Government Id proof.
    • We will not entertain any refunds/adjustments in case of any natural factors arising during the trip which might result in change in the
    • Itinerary/transportation due to which any extra cost is beared. That cost has to be bearded by the guest only.
    • Cost and consequences arising due to any force major situations due to unforeseen circumstances like natural calamities, political disturbances, health issues, delays/cancellations, things beyond our control etc. will be borne by the guest.
    • Any damage to properties/transportation by any individual will be charged from him/her only.
    •  Any injury during any activity, we will not be responsible for any mis-happenings
    • The itinerary is subject to favourable weather and road conditions. In case of a bad weather and inaccessibility to certain destinations we will try our best to make alternate plans. Though we do not consider refunds, but we will reconsider it on case to case basis. We will try to refund you as much as we can if the tour gets cancelled before the 3rd day of your tour, depending on the cancellation charges levied to us by hotels.
  • Any refund applicable will be processed within 14 business days.
  • Any refund claims need to be done within 15 days of the date of travel

Advisory

    • Carry minimum weight as you will be responsible for your own baggage.
    • Avoid smoking and consumption of alcohol while trekking.
    • Do not disturb local people or animals during trekking.
    • Do not try to harm nature in all terms.
    • Pay attention carefully to the trek guides and instructors so that you can enjoy trekking safely.
    • Do not trek during the night, this might lead to mishappenings.
    • Do not throw plastic bags here and there and try to maintain the decorum of the Himalayas.
    • Never take any medicines without consulting the trek guides.
    • If you don't know much about the place then don't roam around without a guide because mountains are unpredictable.
    • Avoid any kind of anti-religious comments and activity to respect the local religion, local people as well as your batch mates.
    • Carry your identity proofs like an Aadhaar card, PAN card, Voter ID, etc.
    • Follow the Guidelines issued by the State-Government during your whole journey.
    • Maintain social distancing in all manners.
    • Frequent hand sanitization and use of mask recommended.
