A mix of mythos and fascinating views of grand mountains at such a low lie altitude make Brahmatal Trek, one of the best winter treks in Uttarakhand. As winter sweeps along the slopes of the Garhwal Himalayas, Most of the treks close but then Brahmatal Trek opens up a winter wonderland.
Hardly we come across such close views of big mountains like Chaukhambha from Deoriatal Chandrashila or Bandarpunch from Dayara Bugyal, Brahmatal Trek gives the magnified views of Mt Trishul on the right side and on the left lies the grandeur of Mt. Nanda Ghunti and tops the list of the trek with best mountain views.
In the prime of winter, through rhododendron and oak forest, when we climb out of these beautiful settings, we are greeted by the great white wall of Trishul Massif. These views only get closer and closer until we are at Jhandi Top, this is where we are among some of the most amazing mountain vistas.
From here we can even see Ronti Saddle which connects Mt Trishul and Mt Nanda Ghunti. But this is not all it has to offer, from Brahmatal trek Top, which is the highest point of Brahmatal Trek, we can also see Mt Chaukhambha, Mt Neelkanth, Mt Hathi Godi. Snow-covered meadows, camping by the frozen Bekaltal, the alpine lake of Brahmatal trek, along with colossal mountains make Brahmatal the best trek for beginners and less experienced trekkers.
The major part of the trek goes under the tree line diminishing the chances of altitude sickness, which is further helped by the gradual rise in altitude. The best thing about Brahmatal trek is its geography first the tree cover and once we are out of the tree to cover the trail is very open and exposed, making a perfect stage for the grand views.
On one side we can see layers and layers of mountain ranges and on the other side, we can see Roopkund trek as real-life google earth. This is all because of the right geographical location and the right height.
Ever-changing vistas and open views of 7000 meters make Brahmatal trek one of the best treks for photographers.
